The Stockist Alternative That Doesn't Charge You Per Language

Stockist is cheaper at the entry point and reaches search analytics and Google Sheets sync on cheaper tiers than we do, which is genuinely good. What it meters is display languages: 1 on Basic, 2 on Plus, 4 on Premium, and their published plans stop there. StoreRocket does not count languages on the Business plan, and adds a REST API and built-in lead capture that Stockist does not publish at any price.

Overview

What is Stockist?

Stockist is a store locator from Nitra LLC in Seattle, on the Shopify App Store since June 2016. Published pricing is $10/mo for 100 locations, $20/mo for 500, and $40/mo for 2,000 (Aug 2026), with a 14-day trial that takes a card up front and no free tier. Billed annually those become $8 / $16 / $32 a month, and they will quote for up to 100,000 stores on a single map. Two things about them are worth saying plainly. First, they are cheaper than us at the entry: $10 against StoreRocket's $25. Second, they reach two of our paid features on cheaper tiers than we do — search analytics with visitor heatmaps starts on their $20 Plus plan against our $39 Pro, and Google Sheets sync starts on their $40 Premium against our $69 Business — and their priority sorting sits on every plan while ours is Business. What their $10 Basic tier does not include is any of that: analytics, custom map colour themes, Sheets sync and powered-by removal are all switched off on it. The one thing Stockist meters outright is display languages, 1 / 2 / 4 by tier, and their published plans stop at four with no published route to a fifth. StoreRocket's Business plan does not count them at all. We also publish a REST API and built-in lead capture, neither of which appears anywhere in Stockist's published plans or help docs. Compared against Stockist's published pricing and documentation, verified August 2026.

Why Switch

Why Teams Switch From Stockist

What you get when you switch to StoreRocket

Languages Sold By The Tier

Stockist's published pricing meters display languages: 1 on Basic ($10), 2 on Plus ($20), 4 on Premium ($40), and their plans stop at four with no published route to a fifth. Their help centre also notes the feature translates the locator's interface, not the details of individual stores — the workaround it suggests is running a second Stockist account. StoreRocket's Business plan does not count languages: add as many as you sell in, at the same price.

No REST API, One Login Without Shopify

Neither stockist.co nor their help centre publishes developer API documentation. Team access is thinner too: their own docs say a direct Stockist account supports a single login only and suggest sharing a password, with real multi-user access available only when the account is linked to a Shopify store, through Shopify staff permissions. StoreRocket ships a full REST API on the Business plan and shared team access on any plan, whether or not you sell on Shopify.

Nowhere For The Lead To Go

Stockist publishes no lead capture form at any tier. StoreRocket captures the enquiry inside the locator on the Business plan and emails it to the right store, so a shopper who finds nothing nearby is still a contact instead of a bounce.

FAQ

Stockist vs StoreRocket

Common questions about switching from Stockist

Yes, at the entry point. Stockist starts at $10/mo for 100 locations against StoreRocket's $25 (both Aug 2026), and $8 if you pay annually. Their $10 Basic plan is a lean one though — search analytics, custom map colour themes, Google Sheets sync and powered-by removal are all switched off on it. Analytics arrives on their $20 Plus plan against our $39 Pro, and Sheets sync on their $40 Premium against our $69 Business, so they still reach both before we do. If price is the only thing you're optimising for and one language is enough, buy Stockist. The comparison changes the moment you need a second language, a REST API, or lead capture.
Their published pricing lists 1 display language on Basic, 2 on Plus and 4 on Premium, and their plans stop there — there is no published route to a fifth. Their help centre also notes that the feature translates the locator interface, not the details of individual stores, and the workaround it suggests is running a second Stockist account. StoreRocket does not meter languages on the Business plan ($69) — no counter, no per-language charge. If you sell into six markets, that is the whole argument.
Not one they publish. There is no developer API documentation on stockist.co or on their help centre as of August 2026. StoreRocket provides a full REST API on the Business plan with token authentication and documentation.
It's a fair question and we're not going to pretend the number isn't there. Stockist has been on the Shopify App Store since 2016 and has 322 reviews at 5.0★; our listing is newer and has 5 at 5.0★. Our review volume lives elsewhere: Capterra lists StoreRocket at 5.0 from 28 reviews (Aug 2026). We've been running since 2018 and serve over 1,600 paying customers.
Yes. Export your locations from Stockist as a spreadsheet — they support bulk export on every tier — and send it over. We'll import the locations, custom fields and filters, rebuild your filters and hand you the embed code. Tell us you're switching from Stockist and we'll do the setup for you.
